San Jose native, Renee P. Batres, embarked her makeup journey in 2005 with M.A.C. Cosmetics. Like most college students, broke and willing to work, Renee turned in an application with little knowledge of what the "M.A.C. world" would soon introduce to her.  The world of makeup soon took over her life and eventually paved a wonderfully unsuspected career. Working backstage alongside numerous celebrity makeup artists, Renee soon gained respect for her "out of the box" perspective, brave approaches, solid techniques and bold looks both on the street as well as the runway.

After almost a decade with M.A.C., Renee decided it was time to spread her wings and take on the makeup industry on her own. Expertise in: men/women grooming and beauty makeup, bridal makeup, makeup education, special effects, fantasy, runway and tv makeup has allowed Renee to walk with veracious confidence. Humbly, she walked away with the experience of working with: Bumble & Bumble, Oakland's Raiderette Cheerleaders, Macy's Passport Fashion Show, Academy of Art University Fashion Show, Celeb Makeup Artists Louis Zizzo, Victor Cembellin, Tiffany Johnston and Regan Rabanal to name a few.

With the makeup industry booming on social media, Renee began sharing her colorful journey through Youtube and Instagram as Prettylilrenee. Once she began focusing on her art and videography, her videos eventually became viral. Building relationships is one of her priorities so it came to no surprise when San Jose's own Content Magazine offered a continuous relationship to collaborate with ongoing projects. This was a page turner for Renee since this was her first time being published by a magazine from her hometown. Renee's biggest makeup and hair client is, A-List celebrity and actor, Colin Farrell.

You can find Prettylilrenee sharing her knowledge and educating at several prestigious beauty schools like Blush School of Makeup in San Francisco and Onedge Beauty Studio in San Jose. When she isn't curating future beauticians, she's busy tackling the bridal world, traveling, filming for YouTube, collaborating with SJ community groups or directing photoshoots with her fellow creatives. Renee teaches and helps clients and students learn: different makeup techniques, styles, esthetics, products, tools and branding. Renee encourages all to build a business as well as a "prettylilworld" of their own.

- "Why the name, Prettylilrenee?"

...that’s what most teachers in school called me. I’m petite and people have always mentioned it, for some reason. And to put it in perspective, everything in my life has always been pretty and little.
